Promoting Water Balance by Returning Water to Nature
Since 2015, GWC has been a turnkey partner to companies seeking to return water to nature and communities.
GWC’s support includes helping companies create a “Replenish” pipeline, manage water replenishment portfolios and help companies demonstrate, validate and communicate progress on their public commitments to replenish. In 2024 alone, GWC has supported the validation of over 226 BL of replenishment activities aligned with Volumetric Water Benefit Accounting (VWBA) methodology across 65 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and North and South America.
For over a decade, GWC and its Executive Secretariat, GETF, have worked with leading companies to design and deliver high impact replenishment initiatives with end-to-end strategy, pipeline development, analysis, program management and monitoring services. GWC and GETF jointly developed a beneficiary-based methodology for calculating the Replenish benefits of community water access projects and quantified such projects, supported development of Replenish strategies, supported the execution of those strategies, provided productivity monitoring and validation services at the operating unit level, and provided verification services at the corporate level.
