GWC Events: Live Earth

Come Run With Global Water Challenge

GWC President Paul Faeth announced with actress Jessica Biel, musician Pete Wentz, GWC Board Member Alexandra Cousteau and others Global Water Challenge's partnership with Live Earth and Dow for something truly historic -- the largest-ever worldwide event to raise awareness and funds to help solve the global water crisis.

On April 18th, 2010, the world will come together for the Dow Live Earth Run for Water, a series of 6 km run/walks (the average distance women and children walk everyday to secure water) in cities around the world. The run/walks will be followed by concerts and water education activities, all aimed at growing the global movement to meet the urgent need for clean water. Take a look at photos from the press announcement:

Currently, dirty water kills more children than AIDS, malaria and measles combined. Access to clean water and sanitation leads to healthier, longer and more productive lives, and breaks the cycle of poverty. Water and sanitation are not just human rights, they are human necessities. The global water crisis is solvable. The solutions exist and they're inexpensive. But we need support from people like you.

Register to run today and help GWC bring clean water to those who need it most.
